Web Design Best Practices

In a web design project, the primary objective is to create a visually appealing and functional website that meets the client’s needs and goals.

  • Make sure that the font color and background color in the desktop version are the same in mobile.
  • Images should be edge to edge, no need to add extra white spaces.
  • For Brainpower web projects (Brainpower, NonCents, AmazontoShopify, Secretos), the client requested that the body fonts should be a minimum of 18px.
  • Make sure that we’re using Google fonts.
    All buttons must be full-width, extended towards the edge of the screen
  • The first CTA button should not be cut, and must be placed Above The Fold
  • Please make sure that the assets in XD are complete.
  • Upload all the assets in Box for backup.
  • Export social media icons
  • For mobile versions of web pages, set iPhone 6,7,8 or iPhone X as the standard size.
  • Burger Menu –
  • Consider Top Spacing (clock battery, etc)

  • Apply the notes in XD, create a checklist of what’s been updated. Keep the comments open, do not resolve it, so it will still be visible and can be used for checking.
  • Make sure to update XD links as soon as it’s done.

  • Remember to tick the Downloadable Assets check box, View Setting is Development, Link Access is Anyone with the link.
